One of problems of treating AIDS in the developing world has been the availability of anti-retro-viral drugs. It is now well established that early intervention to treat HIV positive pregnant mothers can prevent the transmission of the HIV virus to their unborn child.
I hope when the new PNG government is formed in August, treating and preventing further spread of HIV/AIDS will be a priority.

I think the ARV drugs are now available in Pom Gen but I am not sure if people are coming forward for the treatment.
“Early Intervention – Prevention of HIV in children has many factors that includes, prevention of HIv to child bearing aged women, feeding options by HIV positive mothers, ART during antenatal, delivery and after delivery etc………
With the introduction of the PMTCT program in the country, I wish to know if there are some studies done on the Prevention mother to child of HIV transmission program.
Not that I know of but I am sure are being done or will be done.
